Juan Capurro Boltendahl

Juan has over 20 years Investment Banking experience. He specializes in M&A transactions, Private Equity investments and Venture Capital projects. Prior to founding the M&A boutique Boltendahl in 1996, he worked with Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt, with the ING Group in Montevideo and with Banco Medefín in Buenos Aires. To date Juan is based in Madrid leading Boltendahl’s European operations. He is an advisor of several international companies in its acquisition and divestment strategies. His sector expertise focuses on: pharmaceuticals and healthcare, retail and consumer goods and TMT. He has led more than 75 M&A cases, advising a broad range of companies and funds.

His corporate finance expertise started back in the 80’s while holding and representing major shareholders in Germany’s biggest brandy company. Juan played an important role in the sale process to the Guinness/United Distillers Group. Juan is member of the IESE Alumni Association of Madrid and a founding member of the IESE Junta Territorial (IESE Regional Board) in Argentina and Uruguay. Other memberships include the Argentine-German chamber of commerce (CADICAA) and the Buenos Aires based FUAC – Foreign Universities Alumni Club. He is board member of several family controlled companies. Juan obtained his MBA at IESE in Barcelona and also attended Columbia University of New York. He speaks Spanish, English, German, Portuguese and French.

Wolfgang Haselwander

Wolfgang has 20+ years of management experience with international entrepreneurial and worldwide business development capabilities. In 2004 he founded Secuvita, SL a leading UCB company in Spain. He has achieved an important stature in the biotechnology space in Spain, leading a premium brand in the nascent Stem Cell Storage industry. His expertise ranges from founding, to leading through seed phase, to guiding of full commercialization to obtain profitability, to strategic guidance and positioning, and to international expansions.

Prior to that he worked as a General Manager for IDOC in Rio de Janeiro, leading the firm to become one of the first companies to achieve ISP status in Brazil, building a Web Development/E-business consulting unit, featuring www.infoinvest.com.br, the premier Brazilian Investor Relations Portal, with a significant client base in the financial services sector. Following that experience he served for 6 years as a VP of worldwide Operations at Bowne Global Solutions, a leading US based technology company (after BGS acquired IDOC).

Wolfgang obtained his International Executive MBA from IE in Madrid and graduated in Sociology and Psychology from the University of Vienna. He speaks German, English, Spanish and Portuguese.

Erik Robert Hartmann

Erik is member of the Board of the following companies: Tecnofarma SA of Argentina, LaboratoriosRaffo of Chile and from investment company Perutil SA, formerly listed at the Swiss Stock Exchange. In 1984 Erik joined J.P. Morgan where he worked in the Zurich and New York offices, in both commercial banking and investment banking management positions.

Since 1990 Erik R. Hartmann works in the pharmaceutical industry, he is responsible for licensing and business development in Tecnofarma, a major Latin American pharmaceutical company.

Erik Hartmann has negotiated important corporate partnerships with multinational pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies such as Novartis, Switzerland; Purdue Pharma, USA; Biogenidec, USA; and LG Chemical, Korea. He originated and advised in a major acquisition by Novartis (Sandoz) in Argentina.

Erik was born in 1957, obtained his Master of Economics at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland, is married and has two children. He has the Swiss and Argentine nationalities and speaks German, English and Spanish.

Diego Oraa O’Shea

Diego has more than 7 years of experience in the financial sector with focus in the area of Private Banking.

He started his career at Banco Santander in London within the Legal & Compliance department. Later Diego joined UBS also in the Legal & Compliance department. He was the representative speaker with the regulators Stock Markets National Comission (CNMV) and Spanish Stock Echange. In 2004 he was promoted within UBS to lead the Northern Spain branch of UBS as Asset manager and Product Manager.

He is a founder member of Exmerubs, a company dedicated to manage the global wealth of its clients, both in its financial assets as well as in its business assets.

Diego was born in Bilbao, 1977. Graduated in Law and Economics from Deusto University (Bilbao). He speaks Spanish and English.

Bettina Karsch

Bettina started working in Boltendahl in 1997, having previously worked in the Dresdner Bank in Frankfurt and Roche Laboratories in Montevideo. She specialises in human resources, strategy, business plans and market research.

She obtained her Masters in International Business in the EcoleNationale des Ponts et Chaussées, France and graduated from Brown University, USA with Magna Cum Laude. She speaks and writes fluently in English, German, French, and Spanish.

Marc Kitten

Marc is an expert in finance and strategy consulting with over 14 years of experience. From 2000 to 2003 he worked as a senior consultant in the London office of McKinsey & Company, serving financial institutions mainly in Europe. Prior to that, he spent 9 years at Deutsche Bank in Germany, France and Belgium, working as vice-president in its global markets division.

He is currently a member of the well-known Candesic consultancy, which is also associated with Boltendahl. He specialises in strategy, market analysis and market due diligence. In addition to his finance and consulting activities, Marc lectures in several European MBA programmes, including Edhec Theseus, Sciences Po and ESCP-EAP.

Marc obtained his MBA from the University of Chicago GSB. He also graduated from the Edhec business school and attended the Young Managers Program at INSEAD. He speaks French, English, German, and conversational Spanish and Russian.

Carolina García-Calderón

With a Business Administration Degree from Universidad Pontificia de Comillas (ICADE), Carolina started working in Boltendahl in 2011 as junior analyst. Throughout her degree, she specialized in finance and went twice on exchange, studying for a year at Université Paris-Dauphine (Paris, France) and for 6 months at Universidad Católica de Chile (Santiago de Chile, Chile). She also carried out an internship at the International Relations department of the CEOE. Born in Paris, she speaks and writes fluently in Spanish, English and French.

Darío Hinojosa

Darío started working at Boltendahl in 2011 as a junior analyst. He is currently studying the last year of his degree in Business Administration at Universidad Pontificia de Comillas (ICADE) in Madrid. During the last two years of his degree, he specialized in finance and he participated in an exchange program studying one semester at the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing, China. He speaks and writes fluent Spanish and English.
